Hypnosis deserves its growing reputation as a powerful technique for smoking cessation. An expanding body of scientific research reflects the effectiveness of hypnosis (practitioners generally report 80% success rate; recent scientific studies range from 40-70% - far higher any other smoking treatment). Most people report stopping with minimal, or a complete absence of, withdrawal symptoms. Just like all other smoking treatments however (including pharmacological, counselling and group therapy types), hypnosis is not a fool-proof method and cannot be used to guarantee a cure. You must work hard to ensure a successful outcome in the days and weeks after the therapy session has taken place. Once the smoking habit has been broken, research indicates that it takes between two to three weeks for non-smoking behaviour to be consolidated.
The hypnotherapy treatment addresses the deeper areas in control of the smoking habit or addiction. Most smokers take up smoking in their adolescence after exposure to iconic images of smoking, persuasive advertising campaigns and peer pressure. They do not begin to smoke out of a physical addiction (this comes later). Hypnosis can undo the work of these persuasive forces, break the addictive behaviour pattern, and help to control withdrawal symptoms. Smoking, no matter how damaging to a persons health, fulfils powerful social and emotional needs.

Well... You might say a smoker smokes and a non-smoker doesn't, but the real differece between these groups of people is that a non-smoker has NO NEED OR DESIRE TO SMOKE. Hypnosis can help you become a non-smoker so you will have no need or desire to smoke.
An Individual session for Smoking cessation takes about 2 hours. The treatment is tailored to your specific habit to help ensure that you stop smoking and that you don't start again.
Your individual emotional and situational triggers are incorporated into the treatment and all your concerns about becoming a non-smoker are addressed (e.g. weight gain etc.). The treatment is formulated so that you will not replace the smoking habit with anything other than a sense of wellbeing and relaxation. A free Booster session is available to all patients up to 6 months after treatment.
